Rocket Pencil
Nostalgic stationery it is, but I think a good design is worth keeping, isn't it?
富嶽三十六景 江都駿河町三井見世略圖 ( sorry I can't translate this 😓)
This is a famous painting of the Edo Era master painter Katsushika Hokusai (葛飾北斎) that depicts a group of garment shop keepers working on the roof under the watch of a snow-dressed Fujisan and two huge kites. The air is clear and the wind is mild -- such a nice weather. The location is Nihonbashi in Tokyo, and that shop still exists today as a huge department store
TOKYO RED GARDEN
Once in a red moon, Tokyo will be blessed with a free evening event for autumn leaves-watching in traditional Japanese gardens. This year we have it in Happo-en (八芳園) until mid December.
Organic semiconductor flexible display
Japan is leading the technology in flexible displays that can be merged with the environment seamlessly. ORGANO-CIRCUIT is the company that's been continuing this research since 2015. Their latest product is an affordable flexible sheet display very much like the plastic hanging signs seen often on Tokyo streets.
Hayabusa 2
The brave little satellite explorer has completed its second sample collection earlier this month on the asteroid Ryuku 255,532,000 km away and is readying for a return trip. The scientists are quite confident that it has captured a good deep sample. Can't wait to see the souvenir!

Sea Weed Egg Roll
A very delicious and simple dish that can be cooked in just a few minutes. Best to be served with mayonnaise and ketchup. Yummy!
Note: Please ignore the last few seconds of the video! Nothing to do with the dish! 😂
Musashi Koyama Shopping Arcade
The longest shopping arcade in Japan is located just a short walk from the Musashi-Koyama Station (武蔵小山) of the Tokyu Meguro Line (東急目黒線). In there you'll feel like walking in a horizontal department store instead of a normal street. One could easily spend a whole day or two if you enjoy shop-browsing in details.
Astronomical Almanac 2020
The 72nd year in its publishing, Japan's Astronomical Almanac is certainly one of the oldest scientific handbooks still rolling in the press today. With 383 pages of valuable information, it goes through a lot of interesting phenomena such as the approaching of the Blancpain Comet and the Annular solar eclipse in China.
Available now in bookstores for ¥1,320 (in Japanese only).
Scheduled for opening in 2020 summer, mizoo is a new aquarium with a distinctive design. Occupying only two floors in a high-rise building right before the Kawasaki station, it won't be very spacey. However, it certainly is one with a superior interior design, if the CG photos are of any accuracy.

BUY MORE Akihabara
A shop at Akihabara specializing in used computer parts, it's just a few minutes walk from the JR station. Of course, new goods are available too.

Pretty Angel
An idol group of one human and one android, Pretty Angel presented a dance offering at the Kanda-Myoujin Shrine (神田明神) last September. The android dancer on the left came from a robotic startup called Speecys, and their slogan is to "produce beautiful out-looking and smooth motion Robot". You can see that sometimes she moves even smoother than her human counterpart.
Green Island Project
Oh dear, what's happened to the Keikyu Shinagawa Station?! Did the government finally discover the ultimate solution for removing heat islands in Tokyo? Unfortunately, no. It's still a dream in our far-fetched imaginations, but a team of graphic artists had kindly provided a rendition of what Japan would look like if we had green lawns everywhere.

Ayako Ishikawa
Just beautiful (music and artist). Speechless.

Toranomon Hills Station
Tokyo Metro is opening a new Hibiya Line station near Toranomon Hills next June. This is the first new station since 1964 and everyone seems to be excited. However, special care must be taken regarding the station IDs because every number from H06 onward will get shifted over by inserting the new station as H06 (originally Kasumigaseki Station 霞ケ関, shifted to H07 and so on). An interesting feature is that a very long underground tunnel will link it to the Toranomon Station (G07) on Ginza Line.

Spotted Garden Eel's Day
Another funny festivity just because it can, Japanese dedicated today to this small shy fish that hides in the sand most of the time. But why today? It was said that 11.11 looks like how they hover in their habitats. Nice reasoning.

Sora Fes 2019
What's not to like about an event with an outer space theme?
Next weekend (November 16, 17) at Tokyo Nihonbashi (日本橋) a festival featuring astronomy, telescopes, music, and JAXA presentations will be held under the starry sky. Originally planned was a Kyoto event in October but it got cancelled due to typhoon, so don't miss this only chance!

Flag of Tokyo Prefecture
If you have no idea what this symbol means, you're not alone. Very few people recognize this interesting design representing the prefecture hosting the next Olympics (forgive me for brutally discounting the Hokkaido site).

If you're a morning person, you'll love to pay a visit to this classy bakery restaurant at Shibuya. With a great variety of breads, there's also a special morning menu featuring a full spectrum of jams and pastes to go with. This particular menu starts from 9am.
Waseda University Virtual Tour
A very nice 360-degree VR tour for the famous university in Tokyo. There's a selection bar that slides out from the left edge to pick different locations on the campus.
Website: https://waseda-vrtour.com/
Cursive Handwriting
Not sure why but it seems writing old-style English alphabets with Japanese brush pen is very appealing to the eyes, especially with golden ink.
Tokyo Star Chart
Actually it's a good season for stargazing even though the night sky is easily polluted by artificial lights in Tokyo. This page from NAOJ (National Astronomical Observatory of Japan) provides detail monthly star charts for the purpose. Good luck finding a nearby location to enjoy this.
兎座 LEPUS ・ Bakery Lepus
